Ladies' Meetings
Each day specially designed sessions will be conducted to encourage women in their desire to follow the Lord Jesus Christ as He leads them in Christ-like service.
Pollie Deeringer
Pollie Deeringer taught kindergarten and first grade for seven years before God led her to live in China for five months, teaching English as a second language in a kindergarten. During this time, the Lord gave her a desire to train others to use English as a tool to minister to those who have never heard the gospel. She directs International Language Navigators on the campus of Crown College. ILN offers certification in TESOL, Phonetic Reading Instruction, ASL interpreting, as well as twenty-three foreign languages.
Jean Evans
Jean Evans has been a Christian educator for over twenty years. As a certified Community Literacy Specialist, she trains Phonetic Reading Specialists, in addition to teaching courses in basic linguistics, Latin, English, and history at The Crown College. She and her husband, Julian, live in Powell, Tennessee. They have three adult children, all graduates of The Crown College.
Christy Oliver
Christy Oliver was raised in a Christian home, the eldest of ten children, and trusted Christ as her Saviour at age nine. She received her B.S., M.S., and PhD from North Dakota State University. Dr. Oliver was awarded a Congressional Science Fellowship from the Federation of Animal Science Societies. She joined the faculty of The Crown College in January 2009. Dr. Oliver has also taught music for over a dozen years, including violin, piano, and handbells.
Cindy Schaap
Cindy Schaap is the wife of Dr. Jack Schaap, pastor of First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. She is the youngest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Hyles. Mrs. Schaap has served on the faculty of Hyles-Anderson College for over twenty-three years. She is the author of twelve books and senior editor of the Christian Womanhood magazine. She and her husband are the parents of two married children, and have four grandchildren.
Margaret Stringer
Margaret Stringer came to know Christ as her Saviour at age eleven. She yielded her life to missionary service a year later. At age 24, she arrived in Indonesia alone. For over forty years, she served Christ in the jungles among tribes known to actively practice cannibalism. During her four decades there she was used of God to win countless souls to Christ and to translate the New Testament into two previously unwritten languages: Citak and Tamnim.
Ashley Ylitalo
Ashley Ylitalo was born in Dundee, Scotland and grew up in rural Oklahoma. She received a bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Oklahoma. She was then accepted to the College of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with her M.D. in 2001. She practices family medicine, specializing in obstetrics, in Knoxville, Tennessee where she lives with her husband, Matt, an instructor at The Crown College, and their three children.
