National Youth Congress 2011

“But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel.” Philippians 1:12

God's Spirit worked in the hearts of young people in a mighty way in this year's Youth Congress. Pastor Sexton brought a powerful message to open the Congress on the responsibility of young people to take their turn earnestly contending for the faith. God used our guest speakers, Pastor Jody Jenkins and Dr. Eddie Lapina, to deliver such helpful Bible messages in the main rallies. It was a special joy to see hundreds of young people hungry for the Word of God and the response at each invitation was overwhelming. Dozens of delegate sessions dealt with subjects such as: "What to Look for In A Life's Mate Part I" and Part II, "AFC: Athletes for Christ", "The Power of Encouragement", "Working with Children in the Local Church", "Beginning a Bible Club in Your School" and much more. Scott Pauley brought a closing message on "Your Part In God's Plan". Young people dedicated themselves to reach their world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Sexton unveiled this new resource for teenagers and youth workers: Teens for Christ International will serve to help youth ministries as they seek to develop young people to "make a world of difference". One of the most encouraging parts of the Congress was the 300-voice Congress Choir which sang each evening. Young people singing with enthusiasm about the Lord Jesus was a tremendous blessing. The Congress concluded with a beautiful fireworks display by world-famous Pyro Shows on the campus of Crown College.
