Over fifty years ago, Dr. Tom Malone began to publish The Baptist Vision. His purpose was to publish a complete sermon that could be used by a preacher and also used as a tool to win the lost to Christ. He also wanted to provide a report on the growth of the church he pastored in Pontiac, Michigan, as the Lord was using that ministry to see tens of thousands saved. Generations of pastors and laymen have been encouraged, instructed, and challenged by Dr. Malone's ministry.
In October 1995, Dr. Malone passed the torch to Dr. Clarence Sexton, pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Powell, Tennessee. Today, readership of The Baptist Vision exceeds 60,000 copies per month in every state of the Union and fifty-nine foreign countries.
Throughout the years, the purpose of The Baptist Vision has remained the same to walk in the old paths and bring the Baptist perspective to the issues of the day. The Baptist Vision maintains the historic Baptist emphasis on the Great Commission, the centrality and autonomy of the local church, personal holiness, ecclesiastical separation, dispensational premillennialism, and primacy of preaching.
